This fixture was again played in very good spirit on the new extended ground-pavilion. Josh Jones and John Morton together with Mark Roundtree and Chris Kennedy pulled a respectable total together of 182 in 40 overs. The early part of the innings was well controlled by some good bowling from Gillman and Somerfield. The former 1 for 10 of 8 overs and the latter 0 for 16 of 10 overs.

In reply.....the Valley were rewarded with an easy win due to the fact that McConnell blasted a rapid 100 before retiring. A couple of dropped catches did not help the cause, but our score was quickly overhauled. All in all another enjoyable day and the Valley turned on another stunner and we thank them for their hospitality. Better luck for us next year, and hopefully we will repeat the success of 2008.
